Where to place a QR stand: from cafés to beach bars

The right place for a QR stand becomes clear during service. Check small tables, evening lighting and outdoor conditions before choosing its position.

A QR stand should be visible, comfortable to scan and leave the table usable. The right position is different for a small café table, a restaurant setting and a sunbed area.

Test the position under real conditions before choosing a design or quantity. Set the table as it would be during service and sit where the guest will sit. The stand needs to work from that position, as well as look good in a photograph of an empty venue.

Start with a fully set table

Add the plates, glasses, water and other objects you normally use. Check whether the QR code remains visible or disappears behind a jug. Notice whether it gets in the way of service or is repeatedly pushed to the edge.

At a table for several people, test more than one seat. A different orientation or another way to access the menu may help. Guests should not need to reach across dishes to scan a code.

Also ask a member of the service team to clear and reset the table. If the stand has no obvious place to return to, its position may drift throughout the day.

In a café, make the first action easy

On a small table, the footprint matters. Position the stand so guests do not have to move their cup or phone before using it. A short instruction can explain its purpose without filling the surface with competing messages.

If the venue is busy in the evening, repeat the test with the evening lighting. A position that works in the morning may develop shadows or reflections later.

At a beach bar, check visibility and exposure

Test the code from the sunbed with the umbrella and side table in their usual positions. Observe where the sun falls and whether the guest needs to get up to scan.

Material suitability needs a separate check. Ordinary PLA does not automatically guarantee resistance to intense heat; its limitations are described in the Prusa PLA guide. Confirm the suitability of the particular product and its storage instructions before choosing it for an outdoor setting.

Check stability and the condition of the surface after use, too. Sand, residue or wear should not obscure the symbol. Do not assume that every tabletop object is suitable for permanent outdoor exposure.

Compare the height with the setting

The MENNOO collection includes several shapes. The heights below come from the available design catalogue and support an initial comparison; they do not replace a test on your own table.

DesignHeightShape
BOHO65 mmTextured, curved surface
MINI POLYGON25 mmLow polygonal profile
MINI VOTSALO25 mmRounded, pebble-inspired profile
CHONAKI65 mmCone shape with textured sides

Explore the objects in the QR stand collection, and read the story of PLA stands for information about the material and its care.

Keep the code clear and the destination correct

Keep decoration and lettering away from the symbol and its clear border. For technical details and print checks, follow the seven checks for a QR code that will not scan.

Add a quick inspection to the opening routine: the stand is in place, its link opens the correct menu and the information is current. Keep another way to help guests who do not use a phone.

Before ordering, send a photograph of the set table, its basic dimensions and the intended conditions of use. This gives the conversation about a suitable stand a practical starting point grounded in your venue’s needs.
